Meet Chad Q. Hoosier

Chad Q. Hoosier is a government relations, public affairs, and political campaign professional with more than a decade of experience in government and lobbying. Chad established CQ Strategies and Consulting, a government relations and strategy firm dedicated to providing business, government, industry, and trade organizations practical advice to accomplish their goals at all levels of government. His experience working in state government combined with a background in grassroots organizing and community engagement results in successes for his clients.  

 

Most recently he served as the Deputy to the Senior Advisor to the Office of Governor J.B. Pritzker. He was a key team member focused on helping Governor Pritzker pass his legislative agenda. Chad has experience working on comprehensive legislative proposals, such as in-creasing the state’s minimum wage, expansion of gaming, and expansion of telecommunication and broadband access throughout the state. Chad assisted with the day-to-day operations and help guide the mission for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), the agency tasked with delivering best-in-class technology and innovation to State agencies. One of the biggest achievements was implementing the Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) across state government agencies. With implementation of the ERP system, state government will be able to better track spending for services and items it purchases along with streamlining the human resource process within state agencies.

From 2011-2013, Chad served as Deputy Chief of Staff for External Affairs for Illinois Lt. Governor Sheila Simon. In this role, he was responsible for engaging stakeholders, constituents and elected officials on policy issues and office initiatives. Chad helped develop and pass a legislative agenda that included items such as ethics reform and marriage equality.

Chad has extensive campaign and government affairs experience. Most notably he worked on the successful JB for Governor campaign and was responsible for political outreach to elected officials and other stakeholders. After leaving the Lt. Governor’s Office and before joining Gov-ernor Pritzker’s campaign team, Chad was a successful a government affair professional, rep-resenting clients at the local, county and state level. He worked on several client issues ranging from healthcare, technology, energy, hospitality, and gaming industries. 

He is a Chicago native and attended Southern Illinois University of Carbondale (SIUC) where he received his undergraduate degree in political science and his master’s in public administration.
